Libertarian that I am, I still think something is out of whack when individuals make so much money that they can buy their own fighter jets. Or that they would choose to do so.
Honestly, if I a) were insanely rich, b) lived and/or worked near a landing strip cleared for fighter jets, and c) had a pilot's license, I'm pretty sure I'd buy a fighter jet. I wonder if there's anywhere in the US that it's legal to break the sound barrier without some sort of special clearance...
